What changed
Meta's prior developer-accessible offering was the Muse Spark family (1.1โ1.3, July 2026 GA, ~$1.25/$4.25 per million tokens). Muse Wonder is a higher-tier, separately-branded model family: Wonder targets the frontier tier on capability, and Wonder Full is Meta's highest-capability model to date. Neither is a Muse Spark update โ this is a category expansion into the Anthropic Opus / OpenAI GPT-6 Sol tier.
TL;DR
Muse Wonder (API, $4/1M input, $20/1M output) scores 52 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index vs. Claude Opus 5.5 at 58; Muse Wonder Full (subscriber-only, not available via the developer API) scores 56 and is roughly tied with Claude Sonnet 5.5 (56). Meta's own coding benchmark (DeepSWE 1.1): 79.0 for Wonder Full. 1M-token context, multimodal input (text, images, video, audio). Safety evaluation report is forthcoming.
Developer signal
Wonder is available now through the Meta Model API; the endpoint is OpenAI SDK-compatible, so switching the base_url and api_key in existing openai.Client code is enough to test it without rewriting. On independent benchmarks, Wonder (52) trails Opus 5.5 (58) by 6 points on reasoning/coding/knowledge combined โ a meaningful gap for tasks that push the frontier. Muse Wonder Full (56) closes most of that gap, but it is not accessible via the developer API at launch โ you can only reach it through a Muse Code subscription. Meta's own benchmark, DeepSWE 1.1, uses a different methodology than SWE-bench Verified (Princeton/Scale) and the numbers cannot be compared directly โ treat Meta's 79.0 as an internal-methodology score, not an apples-to-apples SWE-bench Verified number. The cost-per-task on Wonder is estimated at ~$4.52 on the Artificial Analysis index, higher than the token price suggests because Wonder uses many output tokens. Withhold production deployment decisions until the safety evaluation report is published.
